The gaming laptop is a special thing. A device packing desktop-level gaming performance into a machine that's a fraction of the size. Of course, this does come with some compromises, including the cooling necessary to maintain high frame rates in the latest games—in short, they can be real loud—but the main thing is they're often so much more expensive than an equivalent desktop gaming PC. Which is why we're here to deliver you the best gaming laptop deals to help save a buck or three.

There are new RTX 50-series GPUs for laptops on the horizon, but we've still found a good selection of deals on great RTX 40-series lappys. Stock is running low in anticipation of the new models, and that, in combination with some tariff tomfoolery, is certainly making good laptop deals harder to find than they used to be. Still, we stand behind every laptop on this page—although it's worth mentioning that good prices for RTX 4080 machines have all but disappeared at this point, so we're leaving them off this list for now.

Below, we've curated a selection of the best budget-friendly gaming laptop deals we've spotted online. Remember that this list isn't exhaustive, but these are the gaming laptop deals we believe are worth your money. And check back regularly because the best gaming laptops tend to fly off the shelves when they go on sale. And if you've decided you're more into getting yourself a desktop bargain, we've compiled a list of the best cheap gaming PC deals, too.

Let's be upfront about this—8 GB of RAM is not enough in 2025. But when you're talking about a gaming notebook that costs well under $700, with a half-decent RTX 40-series GPU inside it, I can swallow it. Especially when you can easily upgrade the RAM with just a wee screwdriver in hand. And 16 GB of fast dual-channel DDR5 is just $50-odd right now. The RTX 4050 is just a 75 W variant, so not the outright fastest, but will still definitely do the job at 1080p. For this sorta money, that's all you can ask.

Even with new Nvidia laptop GPUs on the way, it'll probably be a while before we see a truly budget mobile RTX 50-series. So for those saving the pennies, this $800 RTX 4060-sporting Lenovo is still a good deal. It's got a decently speedy screen, 16 GB of DDR5, a 115 W TGP GPU, and, err, a very small SSD. Still, it's the easiest thing to upgrade in a mobile machine, and at this price it's very difficult to find more gaming laptop for your buck—and likely will be for a while yet, too.

The price may have risen significantly recently, but this is still one of the cheapest RTX 4070 gaming laptops you'll find in a market that's increasingly starved of stock. There's a decent AMD gaming CPU, a reasonable amount of dual-channel memory, a speedy screen, and that all important GPU to play with. The 512 GB SSD is small, however, but you can easily upgrade it with the spare NVMe slot inside.

If you don't fancy cracking open the Lenovo machine above to fit a bigger SSD or more RAM, this HP laptop has already been fitted out with a 1 TB Gen 4 drive and 32 GB of DDR5 for you—so job done. It's not technically on discount, but it's still a good price for a great set of components in an attractive chassis with a reasonably fast screen. It's worth bearing in mind, though, that the RTX 4070 is a 115 W model, and the display is only 1080p, although it'll still look grand at a 16-inch screen size.

The Dell G16 might not be the slimmest or sveltest gaming laptop on the market, but it delivers a serious combination of components for an attractive price. You get a still-blazing-fast 24-core Intel chip, a proper 140 W RTX 4070, 16 GB of DDR5, and a 1 TB SSD—oh, and a 240 Hz display. It's worth noting that this lappy does occasionally drop to cheaper prices, but with laptop stock being what it is at the moment, I still reckon it's a good shout at this kind of cash.

This Gigabyte lappy combines a 240 Hz 1600p screen with a 140 W RTX 4070 mobile GPU, and that's a bit of a winning combination. Sure, you'll still need some DLSS and Frame Generation help to get the most out of all those Hz at native res, but your games will look excellent doing so. It's got a pretty chonky CPU, too, although I'd like to see 32 GB of RAM at this sort of price. Still, it's a simple enough upgrade later on.

Should you wish for a big, fast display in a laptop that is otherwise very slim and svelte, it's worth checking out this HP Omen 17. That 240 Hz IPS panel should satisfy your need for speed, plus it's very well equipped with a 140 W TGP RTX 4070 and an eight-core AMD mobile chip, and a proper 32 GB dose of DDR5. It's a regular 16:9 display, though, so only 1440p for you. It'll still look great at 17-inches though, I reckon.

This laptop has risen significantly in price recently, as you used to be able to find it well under the $1,500 mark. We've still included it here, though, because it's properly powerful and still stands out in a troubled gaming laptop market. The CPU is a 24-core (8 P-cores/16 E-cores) powerhouse, plus you get a proper 32 GB of RAM to play with. Match that with a 140 W RTX 4070 and a 240 Hz screen and this is a serious portable gaming machine from a trusted brand.

We've seen this laptop for significantly cheaper in the past, but this is still a fair saving on our favourite compact yet powerful machine. While it's slim and svelte enough to slip in a shoulder bag without noticing, this particular Zephyrus G14 has specs to be reckoned with. Not least the OLED panel, which is truly fabulous to behold. The RTX 4070 here is a 90W TGP model, which isn't the top spec for this GPU—but with the help of DLSS, you won't care when it's firing frames across that superb screen.

Okay, the Steam Deck may have had an OLED refresh and there are heaps of more powerful handhelds around, but the original version is still the archetype of what a mobile PC gaming device should be. It's just as powerful as the most recent model so all those Steam Deck compatible games should run well. It's the OG PC gaming handheld, and it still demands respect, although this particular model does have quite a small SSD. Replacing it later with a larger model is no great hassle, however.

The original ROG Ally—still a strong performer even next to its improved sibling, the ROG Ally X. That's because they are both powered by the same Z1 Extreme chip from AMD. Considering the relatively low price of the original Ally, there's something to be said for choosing this over the X, though the bigger battery life of the latter is definitely a huge improvement.

The Legion Go is one of the more polished handhelds on the market, with a sleek 8.8-inch screen and detachable controllers. That screen is a little overkill for the lil' AMD chip inside this machine, the Z1 Extreme also found in the ROG Ally, but it's great for playing indies on while relaxing. One of the controllers also becomes a mouse if you need it, which is a bit of a gimmick but works pretty well. The main downside here is the small SSD, but it's a pretty easy upgrade later on.

The downside here is you're getting an older, 12th gen Intel CPU. The upsides? Many. It's rare to see more than 16 GB of RAM and a proper 1 TB SSD at this price, but here we are. Some of the parts might be older, but you're getting a fair chunk of gaming laptop hardware for the price.

Another superb combination of components in a Gigabyte laptop for a very reasonable price. The G6X has a speedy 165 Hz screen, a decently powerful Core i7 CPU, and a 105 W RTX 4060. That's not quite top spec for the mobile version, but close enough that it'll have no problem firing frames at that 1200p display.

Asus TUF laptops are usually a fixture on this page for a great set of components at a reasonable price, and while this RTX 4070-sporting model doesn't technically have a discount, it's still a great deal. When it comes to the hardware running under the bonnet, this 16-inch MSI Vector certainly has the goods, what with that Intel Core i7 processor and an RTX 4080 making a very tempting package indeed. It's only a 1200p screen, though, which is definitely a contributing factor to the lower price we see this laptop at on the regular.
