Need to know how to get into the Hyper Scape beta? Ubisoft's new free-to-play battle royale has now launched in open beta, offering you a chance to hop in and try it out for yourself. Featuring a free battle pass, new hacks, and weapons, there's a lot to take in when you first land in Neo Arcadia's futuristic map.

Hyper Scape challenges you to hack your way to victory. From bouncing around as a giant ball to building walls to block opponents, there's room for creativity on your quest to be the last person standing. From our hands-on with Hyper Scape, Morgan thinks the game is worth trying out. It's also fun to test your skills with the arsenal of Hyper Scape guns. Here's how to get into the Hyper Scape beta, and the modes that are currently available to play.

How to join the Hyper Scape open beta

Joining the Hyper Scape open beta only takes a few clicks. Before we get started, make sure you have your Ubisoft account (Uplay) login details to hand, then head to the Ubisoft website to download the game. Once you have Hyper Scape installed, locate it in your list of games in Uplay and click Play to try it out.

Hyper Scape modes

Crown Rush is already active and revolves around two modes: Three-player squads and Solo. Towards the end of the match, a crown spawns, challenging the remaining teams to hold onto it for 45 seconds to secure victory. Naturally, eliminating everyone else on the server also gets the job done.

Taking a closer look at the menu, there's a spot for another mode that is "coming soon". This could be the 'Dark Haze' mode that senior producer Graeme Jennings mentions in this interview. Dark Haze adds fog to Hyper Scape's map which limits player's vision and emphasises mid to close-range encounters. Audio is also especially important in Dark Haze, as there are fewer guns and hacks (special abilities) available. We'll have to wait and see what Ubisoft has in store for us over the next few weeks.
