With PAX East now officially open, gamers are flooding the Republic of Gamer (ROG) booth with passionate interest.
To help ensure its success, ROG invited Addison Queen, 2019 ROG Elite Ambassador, to the show floor. In an interview with video producer Greg Checchi, Addison shared a bit about his life in the U.S. Army and his involvement with gaming.
Addison travels frequently as an active airman in the U.S Army - part of his usual routine for eight years and counting. His duties often pull him away from his friends and family for long periods of time. To Addison, gaming isn’t just his go-to relaxation activity, but also a way to keep connected with those who are important to him.
“I needed a gaming computer that could keep up with me since it was hard to maintain friendships with all my moving and stuff like that,” explained Addison. “Gaming was how I was able to connect to all my people that I’ve met at all my past stations and all my friends that I’ve left back home.”
Because it’s heavily intertwined with his social and gaming life, Addison’s laptop is one of his most important assets. In addition to being powerful, it also must be portable and rugged enough for his military travels. During the interview, he expressed his appreciation for his ROG gaming laptop for ticking all the boxes.
“I ended up buying your Asus ROG laptops a while back and playing on that so I can maintain my friendships,” Addison said. “It’s actually been holding up very nice and proving very useful for my life.”
As an ROG brand ambassador, Addison will be helping gamers engage with ROG gaming hardware throughout the three-day event. You can find him at the demo stations gaming with fans and taking pictures. Follow him on Twitter for the latest and PAX East ROG updates and Twitch for gaming streams (he’s currently fully engrossed in Fortnite). By the way, since PAX East 2019 is his first convention, feel free to ask him about his experience.
Addison and his team will undoubtedly be swamped during the event, so while you’re waiting to have yours answered, you can pass the time by gaming on one of the plethora ROG laptops. ROG spared no expense this year and hauled its entire laptop fleet to PAX East 2019. Featured appearances include the ROG Mothership, ROG Zephyrus S GX701 and the ROG Strix Scar II.
Desktop lovers can enjoy high-fidelity graphics on the robust ROG GL12CX or the compact ROG Huracan G21. If you’re brave enough, find yourself a seat in the magnificent ROG eSports station featuring the ROG Delta headset, ROG Swift PG258Q gaming monitor, and the ROG GL12 desktop to test your marksman skills in Apex Legends.
Attending any one of these stations will earn you a stamp on the ROG passport and ROG Elite rewards points to be redeemed for special prizes on the program. Visit the ROG Gear Shop for the latest deals on the ROG phone, apparel, and gaming peripherals. Make sure you stop by before the show ends to purchase your favorite products at the best price!
The ROG booth is located at booth 16001 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition center. If you haven’t already, do drop by and say hello. Stay tuned to ROG’s Twitter and Instagram, as well as PC Gamer’s Facebook page, for more updates.
