Like a 200ft siege tower trundling towards the walls of a besieged lords castle, or an ancient dragon flying over a battlefield to incinerate the enemy ranks, Lords Mobile is the unstoppable juggernaut of mobile MMOs. For seven good years now, the game has compelled millions of claimants from across the world to build their keeps, raise their armies, and enter the fray against their rivals in a bid to expand their kingdoms.
Now, having conquered the App Store and Play Store on mobile, Lords Mobile prepares to march to the final frontier: PC. Observant lords may have noticed that this isn't the first time the game's been on Steam for a while, but you'll now be able to download a standalone version straight from the Lords Mobile website!
No one knows better about the advantages of playing on PC than the readers of a fine pamphlet like PC Gamer. There's the precision of mouse-and-keyboard control for a start, and those high-definition battles will really pop with the searing frame rates and high resolutions of a PC monitor. Crucially, on a big screen with big resolutions, you'll get vast overviews of the world map, allowing you to anticipate armies arriving on your kingdom's doorstep from further away, and plan your strategies on a larger scale. Having that overview on a big screen is pretty much like having a giant paper map unfurled on the table of your war room.
Powered by the many CPU cores and VRAM of your rig, Lords Mobile on PC is a smoother, sleaker experience than ever, and of course you get to seamlessly pick up on mobile where you left off on PC, and vice versa. Even on an average laptop, the game runs beautifully.
For the uninitiated, Lords Mobile is an MMO that you play alongside thousands of other players. Combining real-time strategy with a broader turn-based strategy view for the world map, you'll engage in PvP battles to attack enemy bases, capture leaders, and expand your kingdom by taking over those of your rivals. Beyond the core Kingdom War mode, there are also plenty of PvE challenges in the world, like taking on monsters in The Labyrinth, and the Hero Stage, where you send your best heroes on a gauntlet of challenges through which you can earn upgrades for them.
As is customary for Lords Mobile, there will be a few events to beckon PC players to the battlefield. Here's what you can look forward when getting started:
