The Game Awards, the Geoff Keighley-led annual event in which game fans around the world come together to watch teasers and trailers for new games (and see a few trophies handed out), is set to kick off on December 10. Today we found out who's in the running, as the full slate of nominees has now been revealed. Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Doom Eternal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, Hades, and The Last of Us Part 2 are all vying for game of the year, while Sony Interactive Entertainment leads the way as most-nominated publisher.

Last year's show reached 50 million viewers, and hit a peak concurrent audience in excess of 7.7 million. This year's event will be entirely virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic—but as always, it will feature "live award presentations, musical performances, and spectacular world premiere game announcements." The Game Awards will be streamed across more than 45 platforms globally, beginning at 4 pm PT/7 pm ET on December 10.

Nominees for The Game Awards are selected by "an international jury of over 95 global media and influencer outlets"—including PC Gamer—through confidential ballots, which are then tabulated into the top five selections per category. The winners are selected by a "blended vote" of The Game Awards jury (90 percent) and fans (ten percent), who can cast their ballots at thegameawards.com.

And now, the moment you've been waiting for—the full list of nominees:
