Wondering how to unlock the Elden Ring Carian Study Hall? After you defeated Rennala of the Full Moon at the Raya Lucaria Academy, you might have been thinking about unlocking her Elden Ring Great Rune at the Divine Tower of Liuria, in the east of the region. However, this tower actually serves a different purpose to the others.
You need to get through the Carian Study Hall to get the Cursemark of Death, a key item in the Fia quest if you want her Elden Ring ending. You can venture to the Carian Study Hall straight away to introduce yourself to its troublesome proprietor, Miriam, but to actually progress through the hall, you're going to need a specific item. Here's how to get it.
How to unlock the Carian Study Hall in Elden Ring
While looking around, you may have noticed there's space for an item on the altar as soon as you enter the hall. This is where the Carian Inverted Statue goes. Once you place the statue on the altar, it will invert the Carian Study Hall.
To get this item, you have to pursue the Ranni quest at least to the point of discovering the city of Nokron and bringing her Fingerslayer Blade item. In return, she'll reward you with the statue. There are a lot of rather elaborate quest steps, so you'd be better off checking our full walkthrough up to that point.
This is still a very challenging area to get through, with the inversion making it a bit more perilous. Once you reach the bridge to the Divine Tower, you'll also have to face a Godskin Noble, so stay on your guard. Once defeated, simply climb the tower and claim the Cursemark of Death from Ranni's corpse.
