June 10, 2024: As of June 4 and the release of The Final Shape expansion, you can no longer collect Starcats from the Season of the Wish.

A new Destiny 2 season, a new collectible. For Season of the Wish, we're hunting down Starcats—cats made of stars. You'll need to find all 14 of them to complete the Familiar Felines triumph, which is a necessary step for unlocking this season's Wishbearer title. Doing so will also reward you with the Wyrmguard Ghost shell. It also seems like each Starcat you collect will be moved to the HELM—resting in a position that mirrors the location they were originally found. A ship full of purring celestial kitties.

Unfortunately, right now, you can't collect all of the Starcats. They're timegated it seems, presumably with new cats appearing with each new week of the seasonal quest. The Cell of the Sycophant Starcat which was bugged earlier in the season, also still appears to be unavailable. Check back in the future to see new Starcat locations as they appear in-game. In the meantime, here are the ones I've found so far.

Garden of Plenty Starcat

"Within the Garden of Plenty in Riven's Lair, this Starcat likes to peer down from a place of power."

As the riddle notes, you can find this cat in the Riven's Lair seasonal activity, launched through the HELM, but only if it sends you down the correct path. If the left portal opens when you start the encounter, then you're good. If not, you'll need to try again. If you haven't completed it yet, you're guaranteed to take this path during the Polysemy mission that appears during the first week of the seasonal quest.

The Garden of Plenty is the first of the two main encounters, where you'll fight Sol Divisive Vex to uncage and then kill a Taken ogre. To the left of the platform where the ogre spawns, you'll see a large moss-covered rock. Head to the area just in front of it, and look off the edge of the cliff. Just below you, you'll see a small puddle with the Starcat in front of it.

Blind Well Starcat

"Within the Blind Well, this Starcat likes to wait by the door."

You'll find this cat in the Dreaming City's Blind Well activity, which you can now launch into directly from the Director screen. The Starcat is on the opposite side of the room from where you spawn in, on the other side of the font of starlight, up the stairs and sat in front of the big door at the back. It's in the same location as where the boss first spawns when you trigger the heroic encounter at the end of a run.

Temple of the Queen's Wrath Starcat

"Within the Temple of the Queen's Wrath in Riven's Lair, this Starcat likes to hide in nooks."

Similar to the Garden of Plenty Starcat, this one can be found during the second seasonal mission in Riven's Lair: Tautology. It's worth noting that if you miss it first time, you can return to this area via The Coil or Riven's Lair seasonal activities. The area you head to in these activities is random, but if it says Tautology when you load in, you're going to the right place.

After you fight through the initial Pervading Darkness section, activating the three plates, you'll enter the Temple of the Queen's Wrath, where you'll kill wizards and light three torches. After all that's done, head through the archways into the right side of the room, and turn right to find the Starcat at the far end in a little alcove hidden behind a pillar.

Chamber of Starlight Starcat

"Within the Chamber of Starlight Lost Sector, this Starcat likes to calculate gravity."

This Starcat is located in the big final room of the Chamber of Starlight. Once you've fought your way through and defeated the boss, you can spot it by looking right when facing the Lost Sector chest. You'll be able to see the Starcat on a table a short distance away.

Bay of Drowned Wishes Starcat

"Within the Bay of Drowned Wishes Lost Sector, this Starcat likes pondering orbs".

While you might think that this Starcat is hiding out in the actual bay area of this Lost Sector with all of the orb-like Scorn mines, you actually find it very close to the end. Fight your way to the final room and defeat the boss, then look just to the right of the Lost Sector chest—you'll spot a Starcat tucked behind one of the Scorn orbs.

Aphelion's Rest Starcat

"Within the Aphelion's Rest Lost Sector, this Starcat likes to sit in the bowl."

This Starcat is also very close to the chest in the final room of this Lost Sector. Fight your way through, defeat the boss, and then jump up directly behind the chest to find a decorative bowl. Look inside and you'll spot the Aphelion's Rest Starcat.

Gnashing Chamber Starcat

"Within the Gnashing Chamber in Riven's Lair, this Starcat appreciates fine art."

This Starcat isn't found in a specific mission, but you can get to it by doing The Coil activity. Heading through the right hand portal at the start of Riven's Lair, you'll have to complete the first stage where you step on the three plates, before finding yourself in the Gnashing Chamber. Defeat the three Plaguewielders, and then, from where you entered, look for a table ahead and slightly to your left with a cat statue on it. Just next to the statue, you'll find this week's sneaky Starcat.

Reaver's Orison Starcat

"Within the Reaver's Orison in Riven's Lair, this Starcat likes to root around."

This week's Starcat is located in the Sensorium section of Riven's Lair, through the left portal when you start The Coil or Riven's Lair activities. You can easily get to its location via the seasonal Apophasis mission. First, make your way through the Splintered Geode, activating the three plates, before heading through the portal into Reaver's Orison.

You'll have to destroy three vex nodes and defeat an ogre, but once done, you can find the Starcat on the right side of the big causeway splitting the arena in half. Look for the dead tree to find the Starcat hanging out just under its exposed roots.

Spine of Keres Starcat

"Spine of Keres: Keep Techeuns company."

This Starcat is located inside the observatory building in the Spine of Keres area of The Dreaming City. Travel to the north-east of the Divalian Mists, near where the big entrance to the Blind Well is, and access the Spine of Keres by heading through the passage into the cliff and up to the big white observatory building. Once inside, take a right up the stairs and keep climbing until you find a balcony on your left with a Techeun and the Starcat just next to her.

Harbinger's Seclude Starcat

"Within the Harbinger's Seclude, this Starcat likes to spend time with friends."

You can get to this Starcat via the north end of the Rheasilvia area in The Dreaming City. You'll want to head inside the big white building near where The Corrupted strike starts, then make your way through until you reach Harbinger's Seclude and the big room with the Techeun statue at the centre.

Drop down on the left side of the room, landing near a cave entrance and another Techeun statue. Take the path through the cave, being careful not to step into the portal near the entrance. Once through, turn left into the the big room and stand on the plate at its centre. From here, you should be able to spy two alcoves, each containing a skull resting on an altar—you want the left one. Head into that room and look behind said altar to find the Starcat.

The Confluence Starcat

"Within The Confluence, this Starcat likes to stare into the void."

This Starcat is located in The Confluence area of The Dreaming City patrol zone. From where you found the previous Harbinger's Seclude Starcat in the north end of Rheasilvia, backtrack into the cave you came through and hop into the portal there. Travel along the corridor with the Techeun statue at the far end, then up the stairs into the circular room.

Take the left doorway here with the glowing white circle above it, and you'll enter into a big room filled with Taken corruption. Cross to the far end where the black roots are coming down from the ceiling and you'll find the Starcat sitting happily there.

Gardens of Esila Starcat

"Within the Gardens of Esila, this Starcat likes to hide near the water's edge."

You can find this Starcat in the Gardens of Esila in The Dreaming City, accessible via the southern end of The Strand. After making your way there via sparrow, you need to travel through the overgrown entrance then keep climbing the stairs and through the cave until you arrive in the garden itself.

Cross the big open garden area with the tree on the raised platform at its centre, then head right around the corner and travel a short way until you spot a bridge with three moss covered Techeun statues at the far end. Look under this bridge to find your Starcat.

Astral Cloister Starcat

"Within the Astral Cloister in Riven's Lair, this Starcat likes to enjoy its solitude."

You can find the final Starcat in Riven's Lair or The Coil activity by heading through the right portal, or during the final seasonal mission, Chiasmus. After you head through the Fetid Conduit, activating the three plates, you'll find yourself in the Astral Cloister.

Once you've defeated the three Plaguewielders, look to the right of the exit portal to spot a big Techeun statue on a floating platform. The Starcat is located just in front of this, so hop on over. For me, this Starcat was lodged in a piece of scenery, but I was still able to activate it when I approached.
