Looking to get your hands on the Cold War Firebase Z Wonder Weapon? The R.A.I. K-84 rifle sure puts out a lot of damage and is capable of taking down the undead in just a few shots. There are a few ways to snag the rare rifle, you'll just have to follow some specific steps if you want to have it for your own.
It takes time to find all the weapon components, and there's also a puzzle involving a dart board that you need to solve. If you're keen to take the gun for a spin, you can also find the R.A.I. K-84 rifle in Mystery Boxes on the map, or as a reward for completing trials. Here's how to get the Firebase Z Wonder Weapon in Call of Duty: Cold War, including the items you'll need to find to build it.
How to get the Cold War Firebase Z Wonder Weapon
Get it from a Mystery Box
There are two ways that you can get your hands on the R.A.I. K-84 wonder weapon. One way is to part with 950 points and hope that it appears in a Mystery Box. There's a lot of luck involved here as this rare weapon won't be a guaranteed drop every time.
Complete trials
It's also possible to get the R.A.I. K-84 by completing trials, but this isn't a guaranteed drop either. Activate the trials via the Trial Computer in the Helipad area and work through the challenge. You can score the Wonder Weapon by claiming a Legendary reward.
Find it in the Legendary crate in the Dark Aether

If you manage to turn on the power and charge the Aether Reactors, you can shoot a small rabbit toy in the Atrium to be transported into the Dark Aether. After shooting three more glowing toys, you'll be rewarded with a crate filled with loot, including a free Jugger-Nog perk. You won't always unbox the R.A.I. K-84 weapon here, but the other gear in the crate is valuable, so it's worth the trip.
If you'd rather build the R.A.I. K-84 yourself, here's how to locate all the parts and assemble the new Wonder Weapon.
How to get the R.A.I. K-84 blueprint and components
Before you can begin piecing this powerful ray rifle together, you need a blueprint to work from. Head to the Weapons Lab on the Firebase Z map. Just left of the computer terminal you'll see a board with the R.A.I. K-84 Blueprint energy rifle schematics pinned to it. Pick up the blueprint and prepare to hunt down the components in order to build it.
Find Kuhlklay's eye and get the Locker Key
Exit the Weapons Lab and walk forward, past the burning vehicle. Continue in this direction and follow the purple arrows, which will lead you up some stairs. Walk past the machine, down more stairs, and head outside to an area with palm trees. Follow the winding path down the slope until you reach a burning tank with a zombie propped up against it. If you hover over the zombie, you'll see that it's Dimitri Kuhlklay. Interact with the zombie to retrieve Kuhlklay's eye.
Kuhlklay's Diary
Retrace your steps and run back to the Weapons Lab. Interact with the computer terminal and use the Retina Scanner. A drawer will open in the desk, revealing a locker key. Grab it and open the locker in the Barracks 2 building to collect the intel, which happens to be Kuhlklay's Diary. This item isn't essential for building the Wonder Weapon, but you need to open all the lockers to prompt a Mimic enemy to spawn anyway.
Where to find the Barrel Assembly
Once you've opened all the lockers, a Mimic will appear. Some players have reported as many as three Mimics spawning during this section, so it's best to kill all of them. One of these enemies will drop the Barrel Assembly weapon part. Doctor Strauss confirms that this is definitely part of the Aetherium rifle prototype.
How to solve the dart board puzzle
Head back to the Weapons Lab and look at the computer terminal. Interact with the PC and pay attention to the pie chart on the screen. This circle is cut into sections and it'll flash on specific segments. You need to memorise where it flashes, as you'll have to shoot the same spots on a dart board back in the Village.
You're looking for a three-digit code and these appear to be different for everyone. So, once you've got it committed to memory, go through the Teleporter, run into the Atrium and then bear left into the Village Mess Hall. Shoot the corresponding sections on the dart board (the large segments) on the wall, then shoot the bull's eye. An Aetherium Converter will drop onto the floor.
Kill a Mangler and retrieve the Uncharged Power Cell
Next up, you need to kill a Mangler zombie, which will drop an Uncharged Power Cell. This enemy spawns during round 15. As Doctor Strauss outlines, this will need to be charged before it can be used, so let's head back to the Weapons Lab once more.
Assemble the R.A.I. K-84 Prototype Wonder Weapon
One the right side of the Weapons Lab, there's a table with the large B521 shell on it. It's here that you'll find a small battery charger that can be used to charge the Power Cell. Wait two rounds, then return to this spot to pick up the power cell. Head over to the work bench (where you picked up the blueprint) to assemble the R.A.I. K-84 Prototype.
